The
Youth Council Institute Guidebook
The YCi Guidebook brings
together the tools, materials, strategies, approaches and lessons
learned by Youth Councils across the state through the first
two and a half years of YCi. YCi has prepared this Guidebook
to assist and guide Youth Councils across California as they
pursue the development of comprehensive, local systems that
serve all youth. |

Youth
Council Institute 2005 Impact Report
Over the past four years, Youth Councils across California have enjoyed
great success, due largely to efforts of the Youth Council Institute (YCi),
the State's technical-assistance and capacity-building strategy for improving
youth services in local areas. This report outlines the impacts that YCi
has had, and describes how local Youth Councils and practitioners have
applied YCi's lessons in their communities. |

Matrix for a Comprehensive Youth Serving System provides
information on a variety of Federal, State, and private
foundation funding sources available for serving youth
ages 14 to 21 (at time of publication in 2003). The programs
and grants identified in the matrix center on assisting
youth in meeting basic needs, completing educational

50 Stories, All Youth-One System
tells the story of California's fifty Workforce
Investment Boards and Youth Councils. It provides

south; youth who are growing into adulthood
in all kinds of cultural, economic, and educational

The QWBL Toolkit for California demonstrates how easy
it is for employers, labor partners, educators and School-to-Career

learning experiences for students engaged in School-to-Career

and Decision Making Bodies
Increasingly, Youth Councils, Boards of Directors, Advisory
Councils, Youth Organizations, Schools, and others are recognizing
the importance of engaging young people in their planning,
policy, and decision-making. In 2004 - 2005, Youth Council
staff and members, youth service providers, and youth participated
in several conference calls and workshops exploring this
issue and generating tips for other doing similar work.
